lognote.

a calmer way to keep meeting notes — in private beta

Local-first meeting
transcription.

Lives in your notes.

Lognote records both sides of your calls on your Mac, transcribes them on-device, and lands a structured summary — action items, decisions, open questions — straight in your Obsidian vault. Yours to keep, edit, and pipe anywhere.

Obsidian — Meeting with Alex.md

demo coming this week

A 90-second walkthrough: click record, have the call, watch a structured summary land in your note.

01 · privacy the whole point

Your audio stays
on your Mac.

Transcription runs on-device with MLX-Whisper, accelerated on your Mac's GPU via Metal. Your audio file never touches a server — ours or anyone else's. No upload, no background sync, no telemetry on what you said.

AI summaries are optional. Plug in your own key when you want summaries; skip them and you still get the full transcript. Either way, the raw recording never leaves the device.

02 · capture both sides — really

Mic and system audio.

Lognote taps into your Mac's audio system itself — so you capture everything you hear, not just the noise from your mic. If something on your machine is making sound, lognote can transcribe it.

  • Zoom
  • Teams
  • Google Meet
  • FaceTime
  • Browser tabs
  • Anything else

Two tracks — your mic, and everything else coming from your Mac. Interleaved by timestamp, so you can tell which side said what without configuring a thing.

03 · ownership yours to keep

Lives in your notes.

Each meeting becomes a Markdown file in your vault — the same boring, durable format your notes already use. Searchable in Obsidian, grep-able from the terminal, render-able through Dataview, openable in any text editor written this century.

Nothing to export. No API to wrangle. If you ever stop using lognote, you keep every transcript.

04 · the deal no strings, no lock-in

Free to start.
Bring your own key.

The core lognote build is free. AI summaries are optional — plug in your own OpenAI or Azure key when you want them, or skip the summary and keep just the transcript.

Whatever lognote eventually charges for, two things are architectural commitments — not features we'd take away:

BYOK

Bring-your-own-key is supported on every tier, today and forever. Your AI provider relationship is yours, not ours.

Public API

A public API is coming. When it ships, the engine — record, transcribe, summarize — will be callable from anything you build, on free and paid tiers alike.

small note

Lognote runs natively on Apple Silicon. That's M1 or newer, on macOS 14.4 or later.

— finally 05 · waitlist

Get on the list. we'll let you in early.

Lognote is in private beta with a handful of friends. Drop your email and we'll let you know the moment the public build is ready — sooner if you qualify for early access.

Two quick things — so we know if early access fits.

Tick both boxes and we may reach out about early access — currently running with a small group.
